Privacy policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Draft. This page is a starting draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed and finalized before PawPath launches.
This policy explains what information PawPath collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the PawPath mobile app and this website.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and whether you are a dog owner or a walker.
- Profile details: a profile photo if you add one. Walkers also provide a short bio, prices, city and service area.
- Dog details: name, breed, age, weight, photo and care notes that owners enter.
- Booking details: walk times, pickup address, price, status, walk reports and photos, ratings and reviews.
- Location: owners can share their location to find nearby walkers. During a walk, the walker's phone records the route from Start walk to Finish walk, including while the phone is locked. We do not track walkers outside of a walk.
- Messages: chat messages sent between an owner and a walker about a booking.
- Payment details: card payments and walker payouts are handled by Stripe. PawPath does not see or store full card or bank account numbers.
How we use it
- To run the service: matching owners with walkers, taking bookings, showing live walks, sending reports and paying walkers.
- To keep people safe: reviewing and approving walkers, and investigating problems or complaints.
- To provide support and to improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who can see what
- Owners see an approved walker's name, photo, bio, city, prices, ratings and completed-walk count.
- A walker sees the owner's name, the dog's details and care notes, and the pickup address for walks booked with them.
- The owner and walker on a booking can both see that booking's route, report and messages.
- Service providers that help us operate, such as our database host and Stripe, process information on our behalf.
Young people on PawPath
- PawPath is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
- Walkers aged 13 to 17 may only use PawPath with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who approves the account.
- A parent or guardian can ask us to review or delete their child's information at any time.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and dog details in the app.
- Turn location access on or off in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account in the app under Account, then Delete account. This removes your profile, dogs, walk history and messages.
Keeping information
We keep your information while your account is open. Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records, may be kept longer.
